I've been using bittorrent for a few years now

I have learned some sites are good some are bad

some mean and well look good when they first start

but then for no apparent reason fail

This is a selection of My Favourite's and Why

this is a clean site (no porn sorry ill cover that later:)

its well laid out and was easy to figure out the download torrent button easy to find (though half way down the page)

this address is the new one of demanoid they swapped servers to one in the ukraine to avoid being shut down

they are fighting against some American law they are trying to bring in

which allows them to censor the internet for everybody Fight On demanoid

Absolutely Everything

the site has been around for a few years and has as well as the new stuff

lots of old stuff from complete TV series to old movies to hi-def pictures for your desktop wallpaper

some torrents still being seeded and downloaded from 4 yrs ago or more

how do you keep your ratio up

easy really just seed whatever you download for a Long time

or upload something yourself any member can :)

so whats the negative about this site

downloads from this site are not fast most of the time, also a small risk of virus's in the downloads

as any member can upload. also the site is currently invite only to new members

this site as far as i know has been around only a couple of years and i've been a member most of that time

this is currently the first site i go to to see whats new to download

the layout is very clear and the download button is usually at the top in the middle you can't miss it :)

you can get a large Variety of new stuff. and when i say new i mean very new just released stuff

Movies,Games various formats,Tv,pornXXX, Music Video (no mp3)

and the downloads are very fast indeed

how do you keep your ratio up

this is the clever thing this and a few other sites use a points system................the longer you seed a file the more points you get

it does not matter if nobody is downloading it as long as you are seeding you get points

what are the points for...............quite simply you buy upload with the points................ your ratio then improves

so whats the negative about this site

this site looks just as well laid out as any but i find they have crammed more torrents per page

so everything is smaller and harder to read

quite often you look at a torrent post and there is a picture saying no info and thats it.......

no info....... thats sucks

stumbled across this site a few months back and its a gem hidden away and not well known Yet

Though apparently it's been around since 2007 maybe its because it's a canadian site the server's there too

the staff are frendly especially the administrator Dazzer he's a real cool customer

well i found thing's like glastonbury music festival

and lots and lots of Comic's in .cbr format (Comic book reader a free app just google it)

lots of Tv stuff and movies some diffrent one's than the usual sites

pc utilitys, games all formats though ps3 not specified the odd game can be found

because this site has a small community there are usually not many people seeding the files 1 is usual on most files

this does not stop you downloading the complete file Quite fast so thats ok ;)

also its hard to seed back because not many download after you thank god for the points system

this site needs more active members why not become one of them :)

yes i love this site for the sheer amount of variaty in audiobooks you can get on this torrent site

from complete series of books to newly published

you can also find Guitar training videos

this site has the points system mentioned in earlier posts

and a book does not take up too much hard drive space..........

so you end up seeding ages anyway

well apart from the obvious you can only get books and guitar training dvd

actually think it's a nice frendly place to pop in now and again and get some more books to listen too :)

they are a little finacky when it comes to which bittorrent program you download the files with :(

anything at all you do a search it give's you loads of results

it's like the google of the torrent world

well as i have said before always try and seed back whatever you download

but because the torrents are from multiple public trackers there are always many people downloading after you

and i often overseed things from here by mistake by 300% or more

but you don't have to seed at all from this site if you don't want to no seeding record

so whats the negative about this site

Virus alert Virus Alert thats the problem with open public trackers

most of the other sites have specilised uploaders and the files are clean of virus

but these open trackers have no safeguard to protect against anything

Pirates Of The UK

this is a place i used to call home a few years back its a good old british site though it's server is actuall on the Netherlands

it's a forum torrent site combination. people there post on the forum after uploading the torrent to their tracker

here you get full explinations in a nice frendly atmosphere. You'll also find some compuer whizz's to help with pc problems

this is a place you can ask for seeds to an old download and if someone still has they will seed for you :)

everything on this site is catagerised into diffrent sections like any well laid out forum

Movies,Animation,TV Shows,Music,Games,Applications,Comics / Books / eBooks, Misc Torrents

and each catagory has about 10 sub catagory's or sub forums so your quick to home in to what you are looking for

how do you keep your ratio up

seed what you download or upload something yourself any member can

yet despite this most of the files in this community are virus free

so whats the negative about this site

this site has been closed to new members or invite only for a very long time

the problem with this is most of the old regulars have sort of faded from the forum (myself included)

and no fresh blood coming in to fill the void if they don't open up to new members soon the site will go stale

and may just fade from the net one day and be gone which would be real a shame

well it has a lot of catagories to select from but in reality not all these are available to download

just click on ps3 game to see what i mean but most catagories can be downloaded from here

and the downloads are virus free

well two ways actually this is where the site is trying harder than most to please its members

first there is the points system as mentioned in earlier posts this is displayed on the right and can be accesed from there

every now and then they go freeleach for a while on everything

this mean's that only you upload is counted and your download not counted good ratio booster this :)

so whats the negative about this site

nothing i can put my finger on the site is well layed out and clear

and things are easy to find and most new stuff is available to download

yet the site seems to be struggling for more member's

the more download and seed the more seeds for faster downloads

files on here seem to go from 1 to 56 seeds this second one would be a fast download indeed

the first with 1 seed is very slow. It's open for new members maybe you can make the diffrence.

they actually went clean a few year back and set up a seperate sister site for all that xxx stuff this other site has since closed

anyway all the content you could ask for old and new can be found here with lightning fast download's

how do you keep your ratio up

here's the negative bit also because thats the problem with this site

you ratio...........to seed back what you download is just not possible

the limited amount of members means not many people download after you and you can seed for months before you get a bite

another negative on top of that if your ratio drops below about 80% they put time penaltys on new download's

so you have to wait so many hour before you can download it which means nobody follows you then you can't seed back

so whats the negative about this site

LOL as above but here's the point......they give you upload credit only in exchange for Cash for server charges

so they say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is another private tracker that I have been a member off for many years

though i don't use it very often and i just found i can't log in my account has been disabled due to inactivity

these don't play any silly games putting time limits on downloads like torrent leech but is still hard to keep your ratio up

and if your ratio drops below 40% you are booted from the site

anything and everything this is a very old site thats been around for a long time

the downloads were always lightning fast and the selection is massive

it's too easy to go oh ill have that +that +that +that and sudenly realise your ratio sucks

you can donate towards server charges to buy upload (same as torrent leech) to improve your ratio

but who actually wants to pay for anything seeding a very long time also helps slightly

well if you want to join you can't and seeing as i've just been booted

im in ths same boat as the rest of you. You can try joining there IRC channel and invites are sometimes put on there

this site used to be twisted torrent's is not bad but not good either

most files average about 5 seeds sometimes only 1 sometimes 9 or so...

they also do this neat trick when you hold your mouse pointer over the text of a post

the front cover of the film or whatever pops up in a box at the mouse point

and you get an idea what its about without having to open the post to read all the info

the points system is used here again this ones a little diffrent though

you'll find a link at the top called bonus and next to that is a number this is the button

this number increases the more you seed.

when you check you'll be shocked at how high the points you need are

but don't panic as once you start seeding something the points go up quite fast

You'll realise it is possible to get the needed points quickly enough.

downloads are not too fast try and get one with plenty of seeds

they force you to click the thank you button before you can download the torrent file

and then your user name appears for all to see

sometime's just sometime's you wish to be anonimus when downloading xxxpornxxx

especially if the missus visits the same page so i don't get xxx from here

I managed to find something on here with seeds that i could not find with iso hunt and thats a rare thing

this site user's multiple public trackers and so everything can be found here

from film to book to game to anything else you may want

you don't have too you dont have to join to download and you don't have to seed what you get

you should though just to be fair what's fileshering if nobody share's

and with loads of people following you it's easy to get 1:1 ratio

very quickly

because there are always a few thousand downloading

and only a few hundred seeding

the download speeds are not great but you do get the file eventually

id like to say virus allert

but if you check out the comment's

you find warnings about infected files

and they are often removed if reported

easy on this site realy there are thousands and thousands of members

usually you have seeded most of it back by the time you have downloaded it

leave it going for a day longer and your 1:1

This site used Multiple public tracker's

so ther is a Strong risk of Virus in your download's

also not all the torrents work i tried one and the tracker didn't exsist

but the next i tried had loads of trackers some of which worked

the download is slow though.

well only one option really seed whatever you downloaded for as long as you can

though i will say if you forget about this site for a while when you try to log in

you find you account has been deleted along with your bad ratio (not to bad i hope at lest try and seed)

don't get booted for a bad ratio or there is no way back

if you just get booted for inactivity

then you just sign up again and start with a clean slate :?)

alot of bittorent download programs (Cliant) like utorrent you cannot use the latest version

because they have banned it i had an argument on their forum once

they ended up admitting that the reason they ban the new ones

is because their tracker software is not compatible

and they get false ratio readings

because they have not updated neither can we
